The holiday season is often filled with joy, magic, and amazing memories of gift-giving, indulgent food, Christmas light-filled activities, cherished family reunions, and much more. Some of those memories, however, aren’t always so magical when you or a loved one is ill and forced to spend the holidays in a hospital bed.
This past month there were dozens of children of all ages stricken with any number of illnesses, from cancer to heart defects to muscular dystrophy to life-altering injuries, who were forced to spend their Christmas holidays receiving treatment and medical care inside the walls of a hospital.
Knowing the need and obvious mental and even physical benefits of charitable giving during the holidays, we enlisted the help of our employees as we voted among four local and regional charities for this year’s holiday giving campaign.
Through in-office challenges and sales goals, GUIDEcx was able to collect a total of $5,000 that we happily donated to the Salt Lake City-based children’s hospital.
“Donating to such an amazing charitable institution, especially during the holidays, was a special, even sacred moment,” said CEO Peter Ord. “I look forward to making holiday giving an annual tradition in our company as we find incredible charities and then combine all our efforts to ensure even more families have a wonderful holiday.”
Charitable giving and volunteer work should not be limited to just the holiday season either. As we embark on a new, amazing year, the GUIDEcx team is seeking out ongoing opportunities to serve those who are in need. We have already heard the incredible stories from our Product Manager Clayton Jorgensen as he represented GUIDEcx in his work with the Mali Wellness Foundation. Now it’s time to explore new opportunities to serve even more people.
